To use any query here are a few pointers
___
  • If you are unsure of the spellings use partial match option and give only few starting characters.
  • As far possible don't use the exact option if you are filling up fields key 'AREA' , 'STREET' , 'BUILDING' as the chances that there is a exact match with the database entry (including the spaces etc.) is very low.
  • To achieve the above type of query use 'Starting with' option giving the initials and the surname for the name query ,for fields like 'AREA' , 'STREET' , 'BUILDING' as far as possible use only a first few characters.
EXAMPLE: You have to search for a person with the following particulars.
Nitin Vikram Bhatnayak, Anandashram Cooperative Society, Near Hunuman Mandir, Nehru Park.
Use Exact Match option and put BHATV (four characters of surname and intial of first name) in the Abbreviated Name field and % in the Surname field

Step 1: (no spaces please)
See directory search with "abbreviated" name field. See the special instructions on the Name Query page to use Abbreviated Name )
You may find the required person else go to Step 2
Step 2: Use Starting with option and put BHATV in the Abbreviated Name field and Nehru in the Area field.
If you are still not able to find the person then.
Step 3: You may have spelt wrongly try using Starting with option along with bh or bhat in the Surname field - some thing you are sure.
Step 4: The DataBase has records as submitted to MTNL at the time of registration of the phone.

Advanced
